Recent reports suggest Microsoft is all set to unveil its first self-branded Lumia smartphone this Tuesday.
On Thursday Microsoft posted a teaser of a smartphone with #MoreLumia hashtag on its Conversations blog, which showed off a smartphone with a bright orange casing and a front-facing camera.
Although the post did not reveal much about the alleged new
smartphone, it just simply read “Microsoft is delivering the power of
everyday mobile technology to everyone.” The company is expected to
reveal all about the new device on November 11.
Leaked specifications of the new handset via China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center and documents at the Federal Communications Commission suggest the smartphone will feature a five-inch display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 chipset, dual-SIM, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.
Microsoft continued releasing mobile devices under the Nokia brand
name even after acquiring Nokia’s devices and service unit in April. It
was only last month that Redmond confirmed it was dropping the Nokia name
and that its future smartphones would be called Microsoft Lumia
devices. However, the only Nokia-branded devices that Microsoft will
continue to sell will be its super budget entry-level phones, such as
the Nokia 130, which don’t run Windows Phone.
