Bollywood most cherished couple Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Khan finally
granted divorce by a family court on Saturday 1 November 2014. It was in
December last year Hrithik Roshan issued a statement where he announced his separation
from wife of 14 years Suzanne Khan. Today a fairy tale love story and a
beautiful marriage came to an end.
Hrithik who is nursing his injured hand arrived at the court in black outfit while Suzanne was spotted in a white T-shirt. Both arrived separately with their respective lawyers.
"The court has granted divorce to both of them. It was a divorce by mutual consent," Roshan's lawyer Mrunalini Deshmukh told PTI.
No alimony involved in the divorce and the estranged couple will share the custody of their children, Hrihaan and Hridhaan.
Lawyer Deepesh Mehta said: "They are legally divorced now. Today at around 10.30 am, all things were done. They have got divorced in a very unique and elegant way where there is no alimony and not a single document drawn up between them. It's all on the basis of trust, respect and faith."
Mehta said, "This is an example they have set on how a couple should part ways in an elegant and classy way."
"They have joint custody. Whenever and whoever wants to be with the kids, can be with them," Mehta said.
In December, Hrithik announced his separation from Suzanne.
"This is my greatest tribute to love. Sussanne is and always will be the love of my life for the rest of my life. If her smiles are brighter without me, my love for her must accomplish that," Roshan wrote on his Facebook page.
In a separate statement, Sussanne had called the split "our own individual choices."
"We are two individuals who respect and care for each other and have made our own individual choices. We are parents of two wonderful kids and our responsibility remains to protect and take care of them. Nothing can change that...," she had said.
