Uttar Pradesh: 7-year-old girl raped, murdered by uncle in Ghaziabad

A seven-year-old girl was raped and murdered allegedly by her uncle in Nand Gram area in Ghaziabad, police said on Saturday. The incident took place in Valmiki Ambedkar Avas Yojna (VAMBAY) Colony under the jurisdiction of Sihani Gate Police Station.
The parents of the girl have said that she was called by her uncle Subodh to his room in the colony on Friday evening, police said. When the girl did not return, the parents started searching her. They went to Subodh's room but it was locked. The girl remained untraced the whole night.
Today, the parents again went to Subodh's room and found it still locked. They got suspicious and unlocked the room with a duplicate key. There, they found the girl dead with her throat slit, police said.
The angry parents protested against the incident by placing the body of the girl on road.
They were pacified by policemen who assured them of quick action in the case. The postmortem report has confirmed rape and an FIR has been lodged under Sections 376, 302 of IPC and POCSO Act, said Sihani Gate Police Station SHO Ashok Sisodia.
He said Subodh is the accused in the case and two police teams have been dispatched to trace him.
