A British man accused of ordering the murder of his wife on their
honeymoon in South Africa has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Shrien Dewani, 34, entered the plea in a Cape Town court Monday, after the prosecutor read charges that include murder, kidnapping and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Dewani has denied accusations that he hired hitmen to kill his wife. Anni Dewani was shot dead in Cape Town in November 2010, just days after the couple's wedding in India.
Prosecutors allege Dewani paid Cape Town residents Zola Tongo, Mziwamadoda Qwabe and Xolile Mngeni to kill his wife.
The three men are serving jail terms in South Africa in connection with the murder.
Dewani claimed the taxi he and his wife were riding in was car-jacked and his wife was kidnapped at gunpoint. He said that during the incident he was released unharmed, while his bride was shot in the neck and died.
If convicted, Dewani could face up to 25 years in jail
