Panasonic unveils new rugged Toughpad FZ-B2 tablet


Japanese electronics giant Panasonic has added yet another rugged tablet to its Toughpad range of devices. The especially 'designed for business' Toughpad FZ-B2 tablet will be up for grabs in Europe starting December 2014 at a price tag of GBP 709  (Rs.70,600 approximately). It will be available in the US starting February next year at a price tag of $1,299 (Rs.80,000 approximately). There is however no news yet regarding the device's availability and pricing in other parts of the world, including India.
The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-B2 tablet features a 7-inch WXGA IPS LCD display with a 800x1200 pixels resolution. It is powered by Intel Celeron N2930 processor (Quad Core 1.83GHz up to 2.16GHz) coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card. It sports a 5MP rear camera as also a 2MP front-facing snapper. The Toughpad FZ-B2 tablet boasts of a fanless design and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.
Connectivity options on the device include: Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 3.0. It decks in a 3220mAh battery which is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. Moreover users can opt for an optional 14-hour battery to replace the 8 hours one.
Talking about its rugged parameters, the FZ-B2 tablet is dust and water resistance with a IP65 rating and  MIL-STD-810G standardization.
