Summary'Bang Bang' box office collections put Hrithik Roshan's ability to draw the public into theatres under question.
For Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif starrer 'Bang Bang' box office collections, the holidays are well and truly over. The movie has managed to collect just Rs 10.31 crore on day 6 (Tuesday) – the litany of woes started from day 2 as is clear from this: Rs 27.54 cr, Rs 24.08 cr, Rs 20.1 cr, Rs 22.41 cr, Rs 15.36 cr, Rs 10.31 cr – in all Rs 119.8 cr (India collections).
While there is no gainsaying the fact that the overall box office collections figure (including overseas) takes has added up to is Rs 158.1 cr, but Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif pairing was expected to be one of the standout movies of the year, if not THE movie of the year.
This was not because of the movie itself but also because it had everything going for it, from hyperactive marketing mix to a super-long weekend which stretched endlessly and it was being released in a huge number of theatres.
And, considering the surprising super-success of his previous release Krrish 3, Bang Bang was expected to do well and yet, it is huffing and puffing to the Rs 200-cr mark.
The money expended on it has been recovered, but 'Bang Bang' will not leave a lasting mark on the year 2014 even though it will make it to the most-successful movie list of the year.
