Here's what is in store at Flipkart's 'Big Billion Day' sale

Online shopping site Flipkart opened one of its biggest sale titled ‘The Big Billion Day’ on Monday morning. The sale is to be held from 6-10 October and opened at 8 am on Monday.
In a mail to their customers, Sachin and Binny Bansal write that the sale is a celebration of Flipkart's successful journey in the e-commerce segment, the dates 6-10 signifying the address of the flat from which they started their venture.
Flipkart claims on its website it has sold out gadgets like Nokia Lumia 525, Samsung Galaxy Tabs and Kodak cameras within minutes of opening the sale at 8 am. Lumia 525 was sold at 90% discount while the Kodak cameras were sold at just Rs 1195. Galaxy Tab 2 was on offer at Rs 1390 whioe Karbonn Mobile A5i was sold at Rs 99.
Its most popular mobile offerings – Moto E, Moto G, Moto X and the latest sensation Redmi 1S- were still available at huge discounts, at the time of writing this article.  Previously, Redmi 1S has disappeared from the site twice before, within seconds of being open for sale. Motorola's exclusive tie-up with Flipkart also changed the rules of the game by offering quality hardware from a reputed brand at supercheap prices.
The website is offering today-
-Multiple items at price of Re.1
-Upto 30% off on smartphones
-Laptops starting Rs.15,000
-Fashion & perfumes at 50% off
-Toys at 50% off
-Deals and lucky draws every hour
The site will also exclusively launch new brands like Huawei Honor 6, Alcatel Onetouch Fire C and Lenovo Vibe Z2 today.
Meanwhile skeptics have dubbed the sale as sham and Hrish Thota wondered aloud on missionsharingknowledge.com if the Big Billion Day was indeed a pricing scam. Thota wrote prices of at least a few items had suddenly shot up in the run up before the sale and there was a possibility they would be brought down on sale day to claim big discounts on offer.
