Karbonn is known for its super affordable smartphones in India and it
will soon be venturing down a new road by launching its own mobile
accessories into the market. The company has officially revealed its
plans and it looks like it will start small by releasing a just a few
products.
The main accessories from Karbonn will be its own power banks. The company isn’t the only smartphone maker to design portable batteries as almost every other OEM already has such a product on the market. Nevertheless, not all of them are affordable and that’s where the brand has the advantage.
It will still have to compete with Xiaomi’s Mi power bank and also OnePlus’s own 10000mAh external battery backup. To do so, Karbonn will be designing 7000mAh and 10000mAh power banks with dual USB ports and LED lights for checking charge status. The higher capacity version will also have an LED torch and a TF card reader which is a pretty nifty feature.

The company will also be designing its own screen protectors which, of course, will be for specific Karbonn-branded handsets only. There’s no list as yet, but you can expect top-tier phones like the Sparkle V to be amongst the devices. These screen guards will feature an anti fingerprint coating and will also be durable, but that’s all we know so far.
The Karbonn power banks will be priced at Rs 999 and up with sales starting from March 25 through Snapdeal. There’s no word on how much the screen protectors will retail for, but they aren’t likely to be exclusive to an ecommerce website like the portable batteries.
